Monitor Rafael

Born in Cubatão, 26/11/81, he began capoeira at the age of nine and trained with various capoeira teachers who ran local groups.

In 1993, he began training under the Capoeira Convivençia Association under Mestre Valdir Da Silva and graduated with his first belt. He began teaching in Rio Branco in 1999, and within just one year membership increased from five to forty two students.

The Birth of Conviver Rio Branco

At 5.00 pm on 15/12/2001, he finally graduated as a formado 'with much pride' under Mestre Valdir Da Silva, and this led to the official opening of Associação de Capoeira Conviver Rio Branco, in 2001, and has since participated in numerous events and championships. Just a few are listed below:

• Vicentino Capoeira Champion 2004
• Regional Champion (Caieiras) 2003
• Vice Champion (singing and playing) 2004
• Third place Festival de Capoeira Senzala 2003
• Fourth Place Open Games (Interior) 2003
